SPREADING THE AWARENESS OF COLORECTAL CANCER!

Push Up Foundation Houston is an organization formed to spread awareness of colorectal cancer. Colorectal cancer is the third most diagnosed cancer in both men and women. We are using this foundation to inform people about the importance of getting a colonoscopy before age 45 and detecting early warning signs.

ABOUT

In May 2020, Keith Rollins was working out and felt a twinge in his backside. Thinking something was out of the sorts, Keith decided to visit with his doctor. The twinge was just a pimple, but the doctor discovered a polyp in a subsequent rectal exam. Keith needed a colonoscopy to have it removed. Unfortunately, during the scope the doctor discovered an abnormal mass further up in his colon. It was cancer and needed to come out.

Keith underwent surgery on June 16th to have the mass removed, as well as 32 lymph nodes. 4 of the lymph nodes came back positive for cancer so chemotherapy was the next step. Keith underwent 12 rounds of treatments, every 14 days over a 6 month period.

On December 23rd, he received the call that his scans came back clean, God bless!!!

As Keith continues to work to regain strength, his purpose is now to spread awareness about his journey as a cancer survivor. Keith was 49 when he was diagnosed. Had he known that 45 years of age was the recommended time to get a colonoscopy, it could have been caught much earlier.

Have you scheduled your colonoscopy yet?
